The Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto ( Latin Archidioecesis Rivi Nigri , Portuguese Arquidiocese de Ribeirão Preto ) is a in Brazil located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Ribeirão Preto in the state of São Paulo .
history
The Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto was founded on June 7, 1908 by Pope Pius X. as the Diocese of Ribeirão Preto (lat. "Rivi Nigri") from ceding territories from the Archdiocese of São Paulo . By Pope Pius XII. was on April 19, 1958 the elevation to the archbishopric.
