The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Juiz de Fora ( Latin Archidioecesis Iudiciforensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Juiz de Fora in the state of Minas Gerais .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Diocese of Juiz de Fora on February 1, 1924 with the Apostolic Constitution Ad sacrosancti apostolatus officium from cession of territory of the Archdiocese of Mariana , to which it was also subordinated as a Suffragan Diocese .
It lost part of its territory on March 28, 1942 in favor of the establishment of the Leopoldina diocese . With the bull Qui tanquam Petrus she was raised to an archbishopric on April 14, 1962.

The Archdiocese of Juiz de Fora includes the municipalities of Juiz de Fora , Aracitaba , Arantina , Belmiro Braga , Bias Fortes , Bicas , Bocaina de Minas , Bom Jardim de Minas , Chácara , Chiador , Coronel Pacheco , Descoberto , Ewbank da Câmara , Goianá , Guarará , Liberdade , Lima Duarte , Mar de Espanha , Maripá de Minas , Matias Barbosa , Olaria , Passa-Vinte , Pedro Teixeira , Pequeri , Piau , Rio Novo , Rio Preto , Rochedo de Minas , Santa Bárbara do Monte Verde , Santana do Garambéu , Santana do Deserto , Santa Rita de Ibitipoca , Santa Rita de Jacutinga , Santos Dumont , São João Nepomuceno , Senador Cortes and Simão Pereira of the State of Minas Gerais.
