Juvenal Roriz

Juvenal Roriz CSsR (born October 12, 1920 in Goiás Velho , Brazil , † December 13, 1994 ) was Archbishop of Juiz de Fora .

Life

Juvenal Roriz joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in and put on 2 February 1940, the perpetual profession from. He received on 28 July 1946, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 27, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . first prelate of Rubiataba and on August 15, 1967 titular bishop of Lemellefa . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Sebastiano Baggio , donated him episcopal ordination on October 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Goiânia , Fernando Gomes dos Santos , and the Bishop of Propriá , José Brandão de Castro CSsR.

On May 5, 1978 Paul VI appointed him. to the Archbishop of Juiz de Fora. On February 7, 1990, Pope John Paul II accepted Juvenal Roriz's resignation.
