Fernando Gomes dos Santos (born April 4, 1910 in Patos , Brazil , † June 1, 1985 ) was Archbishop of Goiânia .

Life

Fernando Gomes dos Santos received on 1 November 1932, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 9, 1943, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Penedo . The Archbishop of Paraíba , Moisés Sizenando Coelho , donated him episcopal ordination on April 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Caicó , José de Medeiros Delgado , and the Bishop of Garanhuns , Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas .

Pius XII. appointed him on February 1, 1949 Bishop of Aracaju . On March 7, 1957, Pope Pius XII appointed him. first Archbishop of Goiânia.

Fernando Gomes dos Santos participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
