Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas (born August 4, 1903 in Rio Grande , Brazil , † February 23, 1968 ) was Archbishop of Paraíba .

Life

Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas received on 6 December 1925, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 26, 1938, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Garanhuns . The Archbishop of Aracaju , José Tomas Gomes da Silva , donated him episcopal ordination on October 30th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Pesqueira , Adalberto Accioli Sobral , and the Bishop of Caetité , Juvéncio de Brito .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on September 10, 1944 archbishop of Belém do Pará . The inauguration took place on January 5, 1945. On November 23, 1956 Pius XII appointed him. the Titular Archbishop of Cyrrhus and Koadjutorerzbischof of São Salvador da Bahia . Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas became Archbishop of Paraíba on June 20, 1959. As Archbishop of Paraíba, he attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On May 18, 1965, Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas and appointed him titular Archbishop of Gibba .
