Alberto Gaudêncio Ramos (born March 30, 1915 in Belém do Pará , State of Pará , Brazil ; † November 26, 1991 ibid) was a Brazilian clergyman and Catholic Archbishop of Belém do Pará .

Life

Gaudêncio Ramos was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Belém do Pará on October 1, 1939 .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on August 30, 1948 bishop of the Amazonian diocese . He was ordained episcopal on January 1st of the following year by the Archbishop of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro , Cardinal Jaime de Barros Câmara ; Co - consecrators were Mário de Miranda Vilas-Boas , Archbishop of Belém do Pará, and Anselmo Pietrulla OFM , Prelate of Santarém . With the elevation and renaming of the diocese of Amazonas to the archbishopric of Manaus, he was appointed archbishop on February 16, 1952. On May 9, 1957, he was appointed Archbishop of Belém do Pará.

From 1962 to 1965, Alberto Gaudêncio Ramos was the councilor of all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

Pope John Paul II granted his age-related resignation on July 4, 1990.
