Gil Antônio Moreira

Gil Antônio Moreira (born October 9, 1950 in Itapecerica ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Juiz de Fora .

Life

Gil Antônio Moreira was ordained a priest for the diocese of Divinópolis on December 18, 1976 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in São Paulo and titular bishop of Turris in Mauretania on July 14, 1999 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil , Archbishop Alfio Rapisarda , donated him episcopal ordination on October 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Cláudio Hummes OFM , Archbishop of São Paulo, and Cristiano Portela de Araújo Pena , Bishop of Divinópolis. As a motto he chose SCIS AMO TE .

He was appointed Bishop of Jundiaí on January 7, 2004, and appointed to the office on February 15 of the same year. On January 28, 2009 he was appointed Archbishop of Juiz de Fora .
