In Brazil, Chácara describes a small farm, usually with cattle , fruit and / or vegetable growing . Most of the livestock are pigs , cattle and poultry .

More recently, a country estate with a residential house, which is mostly used as a second home for the weekend, is also known as a Chácara.

Brazilians like to call their Chácara in the diminutive , Chacrinha , in order to express its size and cosiness.

A garden center , a tree nursery , in which plants are raised for sale can also be called a Chácara .
