The archdiocese of Cascavel ( lat. : Archidioecesis Cascavellensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Cascavel in the state of Paraná .

history

Pope Paul VI founded it on May 5, 1978 from cession of territory by the Diocese of Toledo and it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Curitiba as a suffragan diocese.

With the Apostolic Constitution Maiori Christifidelium , it was elevated to the Metropolitan Archbishopric on October 16, 1979 .
