The diocese of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão ( lat. : Dioecesis palmensis-Beltranensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Palma . It covers part of the state of Paraná .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the territorial prelature of Palmas on December 9, 1933 with the Apostolic Constitution Ad maius christifidelium from ceding territories of the dioceses of Lages and Ponta Grossa and subordinated them to the Archdiocese of Curitiba as a suffragan diocese .

On January 14, 1958, the Palmas prelature gave part of its territory to the establishment of the Chapecó diocese and was simultaneously elevated to the rank of diocese . On October 16, 1979 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Cascavel. On January 7, 1987, it was renamed the Diocese of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão .
