The diocese of Ponta Grossa ( Latin Dioecesis Ponta Grossa , Portuguese Diocese de Ponta Grossa ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Ponta Grossa in the state of Paraná .

history

Pope Pius XI founded it on May 10, 1926 with the Apostolic Constitution Quum in dies numerus from the cession of territory of the Archdiocese of Curitiba , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.

It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:

The diocese of Ponta Grossa includes the parishes of Carambeí, Castro, Fernandes Pinheiro, Guamiranga, Imbaú, Imbituva, Ipiranga, Irati, Ivaí, Ortigueira, Piraí do Sul, Ponta Grossa, Reserva, Teixeira Soares, Telêmaco Borba, Tibagi and Ventanania of the state of Parorba, Tibagi and Ventanania.
