The Diocese of Guarapuava ( Latin Dioecesis Guarapuavensis , Portuguese Diocese de Guarapuava ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Guarapuava in the State of Paraná .

history

Pope Paul VI founded it on December 16, 1965 with the Apostolic Constitution of Christ vices from ceding territories of the dioceses of Campo Mourão , Ponta Grossa and Toledo and was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Curitiba as a suffragan diocese.

On December 3, 1976, it lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the União da Vitória diocese .

The diocese of Guarapuava includes the parishes of Guarapuava, Altamira do Paraná, Boa Ventura de São Roque, Campina do Simão, Cândido de Abreu, Candói, Cantagalo, Espigão Alto do Iguaçu, Foz do Jordão, Goioxim, Inácio Martins, Laranjal, Laranjeiras do Sul, Manoel Ribas, Marquinho, Mato Rico, Nova Laranjeiras, Nova Tebas, Palmital, Pinhão, Pitanga, Porto Barreiro, Prudentópolis, Quedas do Iguaçu, Reserva do Iguaçu, Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, Rio Branco do Ivaí, Rosário do Ivaí, Santa Maria d 'Oeste, Turvo and Virmond of Paraná State.
