Friedrich Helmel
Friedrich Helmel SVD (born May 2, 1911 in Lunz am See , Austria , † September 12, 1993 ) was Bishop of Guarapuava .
Life
Friedrich Helmel joined the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries in and received on 31 October 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On March 19, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the first bishop of Guarapuava. The Archbishop of Vienna , Franz Cardinal König , donated him episcopal ordination on May 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the coadjutor archbishop of Vienna, Franz Jachym , and the bishop of St. Pölten , Franz Žak .
On September 27, 1986, Pope John Paul II accepted Friedrich Helmel's resignation due to reasons of age.
