Antônio Wagner da Silva

Antônio Wagner da Silva SCI (born March 25, 1944 in Formiga ) is a Brazilian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Guarapuava .

Life

Antônio Wagner da Silva joined the order of the Dehonians and was ordained a priest on December 11, 1971 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Guarapuava on March 29, 2000 . The Archbishop of Aparecida , Giovanni Zerbini SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on June 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Murilo Sebastião Ramos Krieger SCI, Archbishop of Maringá , and Orlando Brandes , Bishop of Joinville . He chose SINT UNUM as his motto .

With the retirement of Giovanni Zerbini SDB on July 2, 2003, he succeeded him as Bishop of Guarapuava. On May 6, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Antônio Wagner da Silva's resignation due to reasons of age.
