Agostinho José Sartori

Agostinho José Sartori OFMCap (born May 29, 1929 in Capinzal , † June 6, 2012 in Pato Branco ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão .

Life

Agostinho José Sartori joined the religious order of the Capuchins and received his first training in Capinzal (1937/40) and at the Seminário Capuchinho in Curitiba (1941/46). In Curitiba he studied theology (1946/48) and philosophy (1948/50). At the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he graduated in canon law . He was ordained a priest on August 15, 1952 . He was professor of philosophy of moral theology and canon law, vice-rector of the seminary of the Capuchins and rector of the Theological Institute of Curitiba. Among other things, he was President of the Conference of Capuchins in Brazil.

Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 16, 1970 Bishop of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão with seat in Palmas . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Umberto Mozzoni , donated him episcopal ordination on February 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Geraldo Claudio Luiz Micheletto Pellanda CP , Bishop of Ponta Grossa , and Pedro Antônio Marchetti Fedalto , Archbishop of Curitiba .

On November 13, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
