José Antônio Peruzzo (born April 19, 1960 in Cascavel , Paraná , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Curitiba .

Life

José Antônio Peruzzo studied among others at the Catholic University of Paraná and received on 22 December 1985, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He then worked as a theology professor in the Archdiocese of Cascavel and also pastor at the cathedral there. From 2002 to 2004 he stayed at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome and received his doctorate theologiae .

On August 24, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão . The retired Archbishop of Cascavel, Armando Círio OSI , donated him episcopal ordination on November 23 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cascavel, Lúcio Ignácio Baumgaertner , and the emeritus Bishop of Palmas-Francisco Beltrão, Agostinho José Sartori OFMCap .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Curitiba on January 7, 2015. The inauguration took place on March 19 of the same year.
