Parliamentary election in Tanzania 2010
The parliamentary election in Tanzania 2010 took place on October 31, 2010 at the same time as the presidential election in Tanzania 2010 . It was the fourth free election in Tanzania since the introduction of the multi-party system in 1992. Observers rated the elections as fundamentally free, peaceful and fair. However, observers from the Commonwealth Secretariat criticized the fact that the long-standing ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) had a clear advantage due to the fact that party and government structures were largely equated.
The long-standing ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi, which won more than two thirds of the seats, was the clear winner.
