Civic United Front
The Civic United Front (CUF, Swahili : Chama Cha Wananchi ) is a liberal Muslim party in Tanzania . Its strongholds are located on the Zanzibar islands of Unguja and Pemba , but it is (as the only opposition party) represented across the country and is also involved in local and regional politics. The party is a member of the Liberal International . The party leader is Ibrahim Lipumba , General Secretary Seif Sharif Hamad .
In the 2015 parliamentary elections, the CUF won 42 of the 372 seats (as of December 18, 2015) and thus third place after CCM and CHADEMA .
