The Roman Catholic Diocese of Barretos ( Latin Dioecesis Barretensis , Portuguese Diocese de Barretos ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Barretos in the state of São Paulo .
history
The diocese of Barretos was on April 14, 1973 by Pope Paul VI. Erected from cessions of territory by the Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto and the Diocese of Jaboticabal . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto as a suffragan .
Within the Brazilian Bishops' Conference , the diocese belongs to Region South I (Subregion Ribeirão Preto II).
