Romeu Alberti (born April 21, 1927 in São Paulo , Brazil , † August 6, 1988 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ribeirão Preto .

Life

Romeu Alberti received on 7 October 1951, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 25, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Belali and auxiliary bishop in Sao Paulo . The Archbishop of Aparecida , Cardinal Carlos Carmelo de Vasconcelos Motta , donated him episcopal ordination on May 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Ribeirão Preto, Agnelo Rossi , and the Coadjutor Archbishop of São Paulo, Antônio Maria Alves de Siqueira .

On February 22, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed him. to the first bishop of Apucarana . Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Ribeirão Preto on June 3, 1982.

Romeu Alberti attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
