The Roman Catholic Diocese of Porto Nacional ( lat. : Dioecesis Portus Nationalis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Porto Nacional in the state of Tocantins .
history
The diocese Porto Nacional was on December 20, 1915 by Pope Benedict XV. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Apostolatus Officium from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Goiás and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Mariana as a suffragan . On July 4, 1924, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave up parts of its territory to establish the Bananal Territorial Prelature . The diocese of Porto Nacional was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Goiás on November 18, 1932 as a suffragan. On December 20, 1954, the diocese Porto Nacional gave up parts of its territory to establish the territorial prelature Tocantinópolis . The diocese of Porto Nacional was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Goiânia as a suffragan on March 27, 1956 . On October 11, 1966, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave up parts of its territory to establish the Territorial Prelature Miracema do Norte . On March 27, 1996, the Diocese of Porto Nacional gave up parts of its territory to establish the Archdiocese of Palmas , to which it was subordinated as a suffragan.
