Geraldo Vieira Gusmão

Geraldo Vieira Gusmão (born October 12, 1934 in Itamarandiba , Minas Gerais , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Porto Nacional .

Life

Geraldo Vieira Gusmão was ordained a priest on December 3, 1961 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Porto Nacional on December 23, 1997. The Archbishop of Belo Horizonte , Serafim Cardinal Fernandes de Araújo , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Paulo Lopes de Faria , Archbishop of Diamantina , and Alberto Taveira Corrêa , Archbishop of Palmas .

On November 4, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
