Alain du Noday

Alain Marie Hubert Antoine Jean Roland du Noday OP (born November 3, 1899 in Saint-Servant , Morbihan department , France , † December 14, 1985 ) was a French religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Porto Nacional in Brazil .

Life

Alain du Noday joined the religious order of the Dominicans at and received on 4 August 1928, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 21, 1936, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Porto Nacional. The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Benedetto Aloisi Masella , donated him episcopal ordination on May 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Goiás , Emanuel Gomes de Oliveira SDB , and the Bishop of Uberaba , Antonio Colturato, OFMCap .

He participated in the first two sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

Pope Paul VI accepted his age-related resignation on May 5, 1976.
