The diocese Cristalândia ( Latin Diocesis Cristalandiensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Cristalândia in the state of Tocantins .
history
The Territorial Prelature Cristalândia was on March 26, 1956 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Papal Bull Ne quid Filiis from cessions of territory by the Territorial Prelature Bananal and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Goiânia as a suffragan . On May 13, 1969, the Cristalândia Territorial Prelature ceded parts of its territory to establish the São Félix Territorial Prelature . A further assignment of territory took place on March 27, 1976 to establish the territorial prelature Santíssima Conceição do Araguaia . On March 27, 1996, the Territorial Prelature Cristalândia was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Palmas as a suffragan.
In 1994, Prelate Heriberto Hermes OSB founded the Center for Human Rights in Cristalândia CDHC ( Portuguese Centro de Direitos Humanos de Cristalândia) and other human rights centers, together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation , among others .
Pope Francis elevated the territorial prelature to the rank of diocese on July 10, 2019. The previous prelate Wellington de Queiroz Vieira was also appointed first diocesan bishop .

After adjusting the diocese borders to the bishopric includes diocese Miracema do Tocantins that located in the state of Tocantins Municipalities Araguaçu , Caseara , Chapada de Areia , Cristalândia, Divinópolis , Dorilândia , Dueré , Formoso do Araguaia , Lagoa da Confusão , Marianópolis , Monte Santo do Tocantins , Nova Roslândia , Paraíso do Tocantins , Pium , Pugmil and Sandolândia as well as the Municipios Bonópolis , Mutunópolis , Novo Planalto , Porangatu and São Miguel do Araguaia in the state of Goiás .
