The diocese Coxim ( lat. : Dioecesis Coxinensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Coxim in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul .

history

The diocese of Coxim was on January 3, 1978 by Pope Paul VI. Erected from territory ceded by the diocese of Campo Grande as the territorial prelature of Coxim and subordinated to the archbishopric of Cuiabá as a suffragan . The Territorial Prelature Coxim was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Campo Grande as a suffragan on November 27, 1978. On November 13, 2002, the territorial prelature Coxim was raised to the diocese.
