Dimas Lara Barbosa (born April 1, 1956 in Boa Esperança , Minas Gerais , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Campo Grande .

Life

The Bishop of São José dos Campos , Eusébio Scheid SCJ , ordained him on December 3, 1988 as a priest .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro and titular bishop of Megalopolis in Proconsulari on June 11, 2003 . The Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro , Eusébio Scheid SCJ, donated him episcopal ordination on August 2nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José Nelson Westrupp SCJ, Bishop of São José dos Campos, and Raymundo Damasceno Assis , Auxiliary Bishop in Brasília . As a motto he chose SERVIRE IN LÆTITIA .

On May 4, 2011 he was welcomed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Campo Grande and introduced to office on July 10 of the same year.
