The 2011 Copa do Brasil was the 23rd edition of this national soccer cup competition in Brazil. The Copa was hosted by the Brazilian Sports Federation, the CBF . The cup winner was qualified as a participant in the Copa Libertadores 2012 .
Season course
The competition started its season on February 16, 2011 and ended on June 8, 2011. At the end of the season, the CR Vasco da Gama won the title for the first time and became the 14th title holder. The top scorers were Alecsandro from winner CR Vasco da Gama, Rafael Coelho and William from Avaí FC and Adriano and Kléber from Palmeiras São Paulo with five goals. The best player was Felipe Jorge Loureiro from Vasco.

Participant state championships
mode
The mode consisted of a knockout system . For the first two rounds, the rule was that if a team wins an away first leg by at least two goals, there is no second leg.
The goal difference counted. In the event of a tie, the away goals rule was applied. If no winner was determined after these were used, this was determined in a penalty shoot-out.
Tournament course
1 round
All players of the Baré EC were used irregularly in the first round match on February 23 against the AA Ponte Preta . The second leg was suspended on March 2nd and the Baré EC was excluded from the competition on March 3rd.
2nd round
The Botafogo FC (PB) began on March 16 in the first round match against SER Caxias do Sul the player Edmundo irregular one. Because of this, the association excluded Botafogo from the competition on March 29 and canceled the second leg. A few days later, on April 1st, the CBF reversed its decision and the second leg was played on April 6th.
