Adriano (born September 28, 1987 in Valença ) is a Brazilian soccer player who played as a striker for the South Korean club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors until July 15, 2019 . He won the K League Challenge 2014 and the Korean FA Cup 2015 with the Daejeon Citizen as well as the Korean Championship 2016 with FC Seoul. At the AFC Champions League 2016 he was named top scorer.

Career

Carlos Adriano de Sousa Cruz played for many Brazilian teams. Ceará , América , Esporte Clube Bahia and Palmeiras . When he was with America-RJ, he played with his role model Romário . Romário came on in the 68th minute of the game between América and Artsul, replacing Adriano. In 2011 he was the top scorer of the Copa do Brasil in Palmeiras.

On June 8, 2011 Adriano moved to the Chinese Super League and signed a four-year contract with Dalian Shide . According to media reports, the transfer fee was $ 8 million. He made his Super League debut for Dalian on June 14 in a 2-0 home win over Chengdu Blades , replacing Ahn Jung-Hwan in the second half of the game. His first goal in China came on August 7th when Dalian Shide drew 1-1 with Liaoning Whowin. In the 2011 league season he scored 4 goals in 12 games.

On June 26, 2012, Adriano scored 5 goals in the third round of the 2012 Chinese FA Cup when Dalian Shide defeated the first division club, Yanbian Baekdu Tigers 8-0 at Jinzhou Stadium. He broke the China FA Cup record for most goals scored in a game (the record was originally 4 goals, held by Wang Tao in 1998 and Mark Williams in 1999).

On March 13, 2014 Adriano moved to Daejeon Citizen from South Korea in the K League 2 and on July 28, 2015 in the K League 1 for the South Korean club FC Seoul . Adriano scored 35 goals in all competitions in the 2016 season, setting a new record in South Korean football history.

On January 16, 2017, Shijiazhuang Ever Bright announced that she had been brought to Adriano for a transfer fee of $ 4 million and $ 3 million per season. From there, he moved to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on January 24, 2018, with no transfer fee , where he was under contract until July 15, 2019.
