Hermenegildo da Costa Paulo Bartolomeu or Geraldo for short (born November 23, 1991 in Luanda ) is an Angolan football player who is under contract with al Ahly SC in Egypt.

Career

society

Geraldo played in the youth Norberto de Castro , Rio Claro FC and Andraus Curitiba , before he was poached by Coritiba FC in their youth department in 2009 . On May 8, 2010 he made his professional debut in Série B in the 3-1 loss to Náutico Capibaribe when he was substituted on in the middle of the second half. He scored his first goal on July 24, 2-0 in a 2-1 win over Sport Recife . At the end of the 2010 season Geraldo was able to celebrate winning the Série B and promotion to the Série A with Coritiba . By winning the title, he was finally able to make his debut in the top Brazilian division, on May 22, he was substituted on in the game against Atlético Goianiense (0-1) for Lucas Mendes .

On July 4, 2012 Geraldo was awarded to the second division Paraná Clube .

National team

Geraldo made his international debut on May 13, 2010 in the 1-0 loss to Mexico when he came on for Minguito in the 53rd minute . His next three international matches against Uruguay , Uganda and Kenya were all lost. On December 28, 2012, he was nominated by coach Gustavo Ferrín in the preliminary squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations. On January 8, 2013, he made the jump into the final 23-man roster for the tournament.

He was used in all three group games, but retired with his team in the group stage as bottom of the table.
