Ali Maâloul ( Arabic علي معلول, DMG ʿAlī Maʿlūl ; * January 1, 1990 in Sfax ) is a Tunisian football player who plays as a left-back for the Egyptian club Al Ahly and the Tunisian national team.

Career

Maâloul was trained at CS Sfax and made his debut with this club in Ligue I Pro .

From 2009 he was a player in the first team and fought for a place in the starting XI.

As the season progressed, Maâloul was used more and more often, honing his skills and becoming stronger on the offensive. From season to season he became more important for his team and the national team. From the 2014/15 season he was captain for Sfaxien.

In the 2015/16 season, Maâloul scored 16 goals to become the top scorer, a record no defender has ever achieved in the history of the Tunisian league.

In July 2016, Maâloul moved to the Egyptian club Al Ahly for 730,000 euros .

National team

Maâloul made his debut for the Tunisian national team against Morocco on July 6, 2013 . He played his first Afrikacup in 2015 and took UCH at the African Nations Cup in 2017 in part.

In June 2018 he was appointed to Tunisia's squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia .
