The Egyptian Football Cup (also known as the Egyptian FA Cup , formerly the King Farouk Cup ) is the most important football cup competition in Egypt . It was first held in 1921, making it the oldest recognized football competition in Africa. After a pre-qualification, the tournament will be played today with 32 teams in a knockout system.

The first cup winner was Al Zamalek SC and the record winner of the cup today is Al Ahly SC . In 1943 and 1958, respectively, the title was split between al Ahly SC and al Zamalek SC.
