Saad El-Din Samir Saad Ali , Saad Samir for short ( Arabic سعد سمير, DMG Saʿd Samīr ; * April 1, 1989 in Banha , Egypt ), is an Egyptian soccer player who plays as a defender for Al-Ahly . He participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

In May 2018 he was appointed to Egypt's provisional squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia .

Career

Samir played for El Shorta and Al-Nasr Benghazi in his youth before joining the U23 team of Al Ahly SC in July 2009 . In January 2011 it was awarded to al-Mokawloon al-Arab . In August 2011 it was awarded to al-Masry for 60,000 euros.

National team

Samir played for the Egyptian national soccer team at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2018 World Cup .

Private

Samir's brother is also active in the Egyptian Premier League . His name is Mohamed Samir and he plays for Tala'ea El-Gaish SC .
