Aliou Badji (born October 10, 1997 ) is a Senegalese soccer player .

Career

Badji started his career at Casa Sports . In January 2017 he moved to Djurgårdens IF in Sweden , where he received a four-year contract.

He made his Allsvenskan debut in April 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Kerim Mrabti in the 79th minute against IK Sirius on matchday one of the 2017 season . He scored his first goal in the top Swedish league in July 2017 in a 3-0 win against Östersunds FK . At the end of the season Badji had 20 appearances in the league, in which he scored three goals. In July 2018 he made his international debut at club level in the second round first leg of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League against FK Mariupol . In that game, which ended 1-1, he also scored the Swedes' only goal. In the second leg Badji scored again for Djurgårdens, but the club had to admit defeat to the Ukrainians 2-1 in extra time.

In the 2018 season he made 28 appearances in the Allsvenskan and scored eight goals. In February 2019 he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2022. By the end of the 2018/19 season, he made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga, in which he scored five goals. After a further 16 appearances and three goals in the 2019/20 season, he moved to Egypt in January 2020 for al Ahly SC , where he received a contract that ran until June 2024.

National team

With the Senegalese U-20 selection , Badji finished second at the 2017 African Cup . In the same year he also took part in the World Cup with Senegal , where they failed in the round of 16 against Mexico . Badji was in three of Senegal's four games over the full distance.
