State Cup of São Paulo

The São Paulo State Cup (port: Copa Paulista ) is the football association cup of the state of São Paulo in Brazil . It has been organized by the National Federation of Federação Paulista de Futebol (FPF) since 1999 .

The winner of the state cup qualifies for the national cup competition of Brazil, the Copa do Brasil , in addition to the top three in the first and the best in the second division of the state championship . If a club has won both the championship and the cup in one season, the defeated cup finalist receives the starting place for the Copa do Brasil. In the years 2007 to 2010 the winner also qualified for the South Brazilian Super Cup.

  1. ↑ In 2002 the State Cup was divided into two competitions ( Copa Futebol do Interior and Copa Mauro Ramos ), in which the clubs were divided according to regional criteria. In the following season, they returned to a uniform cup mode.
