Leandro Lessa Azevedo (born August 13, 1980 in Ribeirão Preto , Brazil ) is a Brazilian football player.
Career
The 1.73 m tall midfielder began his career in 1999 with Botafogo FC (Ribeirão Preto) . He started in 1997 with the youth club and was used in the professional league from 1999. At the request of football coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo , he was hired by the Corinthians São Paulo club . In the first semi-final at the Torneio Rio-São Paulo against Pacaembu on April 20, 2002, there was a draw. In addition, five players received a yellow card and four of the Corinthians club received a yellow card. In the second semi-final Leandro was able to turn the game around, after the 27th minute the score was 1-0 for the club ABC Natal , in the end Leandro scored two goals and won with a 3-1. After two years he signed a contract for two more with the Russian association Lokomotiv Moscow .
In 2005 he was loaned by the Fluminense FC club. There he was nicknamed "Warrior" for his commitment and commitment. He performed well throughout the championships. From 2006 to 2007 he was under contract with FC São Paulo . On December 22nd, chairman Luiz Onofre Meira confirmed that Leandro had signed a contract with Gremio Porto Alegre . However, due to the lack of documents, this was not officially confirmed until January 4, 2010. The striker was largely injured during the year. From February 8 to November 20, 2011 he was under contract with the club CR Vasco da Gama and only scored one goal. He scored the goal in the defeat against Club Aurora (8: 3). After twelve years, he returned to Botafogo FC (Ribeirão Preto) in 2013. He has been under contract with the Grêmio Catanduvense de Futebol club since 2015 .
