The winner of a game goes to the next round. In the event of a tie in the first round, the better ranking club automatically qualifies for the next round. In the second round, the decision will be made in the event of a draw on penalties.

From the third round, the pairings were played again with a second leg. The away goals rule and the penalty shoot-out were used to determine the winner. In contrast to the previous season, changes were made. The away goals rule does not apply to the entire competition. On March 5, 2020, the home right for the first leg was drawn in the third round.
