The Oeste Futebol Clube is a Brazilian football club from Itápolis in the state of São Paulo . Its club crest is borrowed from that of the CR Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro and the club's mascot is a jaguar, reminiscent of the Da Onça River flowing through Itápolis, which is why its players are often called "the red-black jaguars" (port: Onça Rubro-Negra ) become. He currently plays in the second highest Brazilian league.

history

The club played only a subordinate role for most of its existence. In 2004 he was promoted to the first division of the state championship of São Paulo , from which he had to relegate again after one season. He has only played in the first state league since 2009. In 2011 he won the state championship of the provincial clubs.

For the national championship of Brazil , he qualified for the 2010 season for the lowest division, the Série D, from which he was promoted to the Série C in 2011. He finished first in the table in the first year and thus qualified for Série B, which is still playing today.
