The Campeonato Brasileiro Série B 2020 is the 44th season of Brazil's second soccer league .

Season course

The competition should take place from May 1, 2020 to November 28, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the season has been postponed. The period from August 8, 2020 to January 30, 2021 was set as the new time window. The championship is organized by the national association CBF . The championship is in league mode discharged with home and away. At the end of the season, the teams in positions 17 to 20 will be relegated to Série C 2021.

On the 3rd matchday , two games (Confiança: Avaí, CSA: Cuiabá) had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic.

For the same reason, the match between Sampaio Corrêa and Figueirense was canceled on the 4th matchday and the match between Grêmio Esportivo and Sampaio Corrêa on the 5th matchday .

Due to unpaid transfer fees, the Cruzeiro EC started the season with a deduction of six points.
