The 1982 Taça de Prata was the fifth season of Brazil's second soccer league .

Season course

The competition started on January 23, 1982 in its new season and ended on April 25, 1982. The championship was organized by the national association CBF .

At the end of the season, the Campo Grande AC celebrated the championship. The winners of the second round group matches qualified for the second round of the first division in 1982 . The four runners-up in the second round qualified for the round of 16. In this, the clubs joined twelve clubs, which were eliminated in the first round of the first division. The two finalists qualified for the first division in 1983 .

The competition was held in two group phases and a knockout round from the round of 16 and a final.

Attendees

48 teams took part in the competition. These were 36 qualifiers from the national championships and the twelve clubs from the Taça de Ouro 1982 .

Participant state championships

Among the participants from Rio de Janeiro, Olaria AC originally qualified as the winner of the Série C 1981. Due to the cutting off in the state championship of 1981, the Americano FC (RJ) was reported to the FERJ by the national association of Rios.
