State Cup of Santa Catarina

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The State Cup of Santa Catarina (port: Copa Santa Catarina ) is the football association cup of the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil . It has been organized by the National Federation of Federação Catarinense de Futebol (FCF) since 1990 with several interruptions.

The winner of the state cup qualifies alongside the top two finishers in the first division of the state championship for the national cup competition of Brazil, the Copa do Brasil . If a club has won both the championship and the cup in one season, the defeated cup finalist receives the starting place for the Copa do Brasil. In times when the cup competition does not take place, his starting place goes to the third place in the first state league. In the years 2007 to 2010 the winner also qualified for the South Brazilian Super Cup.
