mode

The mode consisted of a knockout system . For the first two rounds, the rule was that if a team wins an away first leg by at least two goals, there is no second leg.

The goal difference counted. In the event of a tie, the away goals rule was applied. If no winner was determined after these were used, this was determined in a penalty shoot-out.
