The Centro Educativo Recreativo Associação Atlética São Mateus , AA São Mateus or AASM for short , is a Brazilian football club from São Mateus in the state of Espírito Santo .

history

The association was founded in 1963 under the name Associação Atlética Paroquial and has changed its name several times until 1975, when it adopted the one that is still run today. He was promoted to the first national league of Espírito Santo in 1975 and was able to play in the 1995 season in the Série C of the national championship of Brazil . After he had slipped into the second national league in the meantime, he won his first national championship as a promoted player in 2009, whereupon he was allowed to compete in the Copa do Brasil for the first time . The second title win in 2011 qualified him for the last national championship in the Série D in the same year.
