Isaac Nabwana

Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey Nabwana (* 1973 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan director . Because of the use of violence and blood as stylistic devices in his films , he is also referred to as the Tarantino of Africa after Quentin Tarantino .

Life

Nabwana was born in Wakaliga , a slum on the outskirts of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Even as a child he was interested in films, but could not afford tickets to the cinema , which is why he had the story portrayed by his older brothers after the performance. After finishing school, Nabwana worked in a brick factory and saved up for his first film camera for ten years .

In 2005, Nabwana founded his production company Ramon Film Productions and produced his first film. Over the next few years he produced over forty films. Her style is called "Wakaliwood" by fans - based on Hollywood . He is briefly introduced and interviewed by Serge Ou in the documentary Iron Fists and Kung Fu Kicks (2019).

Nabwana is married and has three children.
