Daniel da Silva Carvalho (born March 1, 1983 in Pelotas , Brazil ) is a Brazilian professional footballer . He mostly plays in attacking midfield, but sometimes also as a striker.

After three successful years at Internacional de Porto Alegre , he moved to the Russian club CSKA Moscow in 2004 for just under 4.2 million euros . He was one of the guarantors for Moscow's 2005 UEFA Cup victory. In the 3-1 final against Sporting Lisbon , he prepared all three goals and was elected Man of the Match .

In July 2008 he was loaned to his old club Internacional de Porto Alegre for half a year. At the beginning of 2010, he moved again on loan to the Arab club al-Arabi .

National team

Daniel Carvalho was voted the third best player of the tournament at the 2003 Junior World Championships .

On August 16, 2006, he made his debut for the national team of Brazil . In the game against Norway he also scored his first international goal.
