Sandro Meira Ricci (born November 19, 1974 in Poços de Caldas ) is a Brazilian football referee .

Career

With the start of the 2008/2009 season he leads Games in the Brazilian Série A . There he was elected the best referee in the country at the Prêmio Craque do Brasileirão in 2010. He has been a FIFA referee since 2011 . At the U20 World Cup in 2013 , he led four games, including a quarter-final and the third-place match. On December 21, 2013, he led the final of the FIFA Club World Cup between FC Bayern Munich and Raja Casablanca . He and his team were selected for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 2016 Olympic Football Tournament and the 2018 World Cup in Russia . He was the 500th referee to oversee a game for the German team.

Sandro Ricci was the first referee to recognize a goal using the goal-line technique introduced for the 2014 World Cup .
