Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz (born March 12, 1977 in Algimia de Alfara , Valencia ) is a Spanish football referee of the Primera División . He is a member of the Valencian Referees Association and is a sports teacher by profession .

He has been a FIFA referee since January 2011 . His first international game he was in charge of was a friendly between the U-21 national teams of Italy and England on February 8, 2011. He has already played two games in the UEFA Champions League , one in the third qualifying round and one in the group stage of the 2012 season / 2013.

His career highlight so far has been the nomination as referee for the 2016 Olympic Football Tournament , where he chaired the two group games between Brazil and Sudan and Argentina and Honduras.

On March 29, 2018, FIFA nominated him as the only Spanish referee for the 2018 World Cup . Pau Cebrián Devís and Roberto Díaz Pérez accompany him as assistants .
