Danny Makkelie

Danny Makkelie (born January 28, 1983 in Willemstad , Curaçao ) is a Dutch football referee .

Danny Makkelie has been a referee in the Eredivisie since 2009 , and since 2010 as a full-time official. In addition to his work as a referee, he is a policeman with the Dutch police. He has been a FIFA referee since 2011 .

At the end of April 2018, Makkelie was appointed by FIFA as one of 13 video referees for the 2018 World Cup in Russia . A year later, he also acted as video referee at the 2019 Women's World Cup in France .
