Bruno Galler (born October 21, 1946 in Baden ) is a former Swiss football referee.

Career

Switzerland

In the highest Swiss league, Galler whistled a total of 185 games (excluding the final, promotion and relegation rounds). The game with the "worst foul in Swiss football" on September 13, 1985, in which Gabet Chapuisat severely injured the ligaments, cruciate ligaments and meniscus of today's coach Lucien Favre, was remembered. The foul ended up even in civil court.

International

In addition to numerous games in Switzerland, Galler also led games at European level, in particular the final of the 1982 UEFA Supercup , the 1983/84 UEFA Cup final and the 1989/90 European Cup final . The highlight of his career was the final of the European Championship in 1992 , between Germany and Denmark, which he was allowed to lead. Bruno Galler was the first foreign referee to lead a game in the Bundesliga. It is the game Borussia Dortmund against Waldhof Mannheim on March 30, 1990.
