Peter Fröjdfeldt
Peter Fröjdfeldt (* 14. November 1963 in Eskilstuna ) is a former Swedish FIFA - football referee . He gained particular prominence as a referee during the 2008 European Championship and as head of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup final between Zenit St. Petersburg and the Glasgow Rangers in Manchester.
Career
Fröjdfeldt made his debut in Sweden in 1992 as a referee in the fifth division Division 4 . In the following years he went through the next higher leagues, so that in 1997 he made his debut in the Allsvenskan . He has also been an international referee since 2001 and is considered the successor to the well-known Swedish referee Anders Frisk . From 2007, in particular, it became the focus of attention. For example, he was in charge of the decisive match in qualifying for the European Championship 2008 between the English and Croatian national teams and he whistled several games in the knockout round of the Champions League . In May 2008 he was in charge of the UEFA Cup final and in June was a referee and fourth official at the European Championship several times, where he was supported by his assistants Stefan Wittberg and Henrik Andrén.
In December 2008 Fröjdfeldt ended his career as a referee in order to be able to devote more time to his family and his job. Fröjdfeldt's main job is the Munktellarenan , a hall for various sports, in his home town of Eskilstuna .
