Julio Alberto Bascuñán González (born June 11, 1978 ) is a Chilean football referee .

Bascuñán has been leading games in the Chilean Primera División since Apertura 2008 .

Bascuñán has been whistling international games since 2011. Bascuñán was, among other things, referee at the Copa America 2015 and 2016 .

On March 29, 2018, Bascuñán and his assistants Carlos Astroza and Christian Schiemann were nominated as one of 36 referee teams for the 2018 World Cup in Russia . The team remained without game management, but Bascuñán acted five times as fourth official .
